One of the biggest thing you learn when you study NLP and hypnosis is the idea of “structure” vs “content.”
It’s very, very easy to get stuck focused on “content,” when it’s really the “structure” that move people’s minds.
And when it comes to structure, there are a few different kinds. There’s the structure of language, where you use pretty vague content, and people kind of fill in the blanks on their own.
For example, you could call up your girl and ask her:
“Hey, let’s go to that new pizza place and get some of their new mushroom pizza, I hear that the cheese to sauce ratio is just perfect.”
This is obviously very heavy on the content. Unless you know she loves pizza, cheese, sauce and mushrooms, she’ll likely come up with an excuse.
